“If he gets up before me, he tucks the covers around me so I won’t be cold.” -Sadie Hector is just an all-round great character. Hector is also Eddie’s brother so we see Blanca again yay I love when she showed up in Eddie and Jet’s book she was funny then and she is funny in this book as well. He is incredible, patient and finds Sadie utterly hilarious and I love that. Yes she is wounded and broken but enter in Hector “Oh my God” Chavez and he helps her see the real Sadie and bring her out. But that’s not Sadie she tackles what life throws at her with strength and determination like no other Rock Chick yet. And who would blame her, rape is terrible. It’s okay if I don’t wake up because there’s no one to care.” – Sadie The book starts of right away with rape and I know what you’re thinking it’s going to be a downer she is going to be broken and upset and not a fun character. “It only matters if there’s someone to care if you don’t wake up. Who never lets anyone close because she never knew if they were there for her or to get to her father. So she protects herself with armor, whether that’s designer clothes or the facade of Sadie the Ice Princess. She hasn’t had a real genuine friend all her life. No real affection after the passing of her mother. Sadie isn’t your average every day girl, she grew up with a father who was head of crime and drugs. This book made me cry and tear up multiple times and not just once but every time I re read it. I mean we get Hector “Oh my God” Chavez! Jumps up and down… I mean really! Sadie and Hector’s story: This story by far is the most emotional for me, not to say the other books didn’t have their fair share of emotions. Yep, I have 2 because I like them both in different ways. Mm, well maybe we were being an eensy bit loud.I CAN’T CHOOSE! TIE FOR MY FAVORITE OF THE SERIES. “You all wanna quit screamin’ at three o’clock in the mornin’ in my fuckin’ neighborhood?” Hector suggested. “It’s rock ‘n’ roll?” Lee asked, sounding as amused as he looked. I turned to the car, dislodging Lee’s arm and lifted both my hands and pressed down. “I will not shut up! I’m not taking the fall for this one!” Ally shouted back. “Shut up, Ally!” Indy shouted out the open passenger side window. “It wasn’t!” super-power-eared Ally yelled from the open back window of Lee’s Explorer. “What was Ally’s idea?” Hector asked Lee. Hector looked at Lee then looked at me then he muttered, “Oh fuck.” Lee nodded, his smile somehow bigger like he was trying not to laugh then his eyes moved to Hector and he said, “I tried to stop it.” She’s known Hector, like, his whole life so I think she’s in the position to know.” “Blanca told you that?” Lee asked, his smile (and arm) still firmly in place. Blanca tells me Hector doesn’t like men touching me.” “I looked up at Lee when we stopped in front of Hector and informed him helpfully, “You might want to take your arm away.
